Sidetrip sa Circle
Nina and i had a kiddie party to attend to by 3pm. Being too conscious about the time and wanting to buy a gift for dear Alessi (bday boy) from the Ikea place along Kamias…and being a quick shooper that I am, i overestimated the time. One hour to go til 3. Sobrang excited naman diba kung mauna ako sa party, kulang na lang maki-ihaw ako ng barbeque sa Kapatid ni Mommy Kate
hehe
But anyways, as we turned towards Quezon Circle, (an everyday sight to me, since working as Consultant somewhere out there) i thought, Eureka! Why not check out the park with Nina? Na excite ako,,,and moreso when Nina kept gasping seeing the trees upon our entrance to the Circle, plus her amazement with the mala-vintage play ground on all sides. I knew right away i made the right turn.
15pesos to park my car. 20 pesos, for 2 bottled Summit. 60 pesos an hour - for Nina’s bike rental. She had the time of her life, while I got my needed exercise, while walking alongside her (kahit na baka masagasaan ako ng pedicab, keber). She kept saying how fun it was and that we should do it again.
The Quezon Circle is a perfect sidetrip really, for families tired of thea airconditioned malls and the over-priced playroom rentals available in it. Thinking about it, it has been decades since I last set foot on Quezon Circle to see the park. The exact details i barely remember even! Nice to know there are places like these for the simpleng pinoy na pamilya, to enjoy for free. The park may have its unsightly portions like dilapidated slides, some dusty play fixtures, and a bit of dry greens. But who are we to complain? I simply liked the idea of an open space for my child to play around in, and nothing more. Some families even set picnic blankets while eating sleeping chatting. Some in groups that looked like young people in a club, with the same pink shirt to boot. But overall, our trip was fun and more than satisfactory.
For an additional 20 pesos bubble toy for nina and a GRAND total of 115pesos (grabe mura diva?) - our Circle trip was great. Just like the mastercard commercial - seeing my daughter’s big smile and hearing a heartfelt “I love you” in the end - PRICELESS!
