Cheap HK Food!
I have always loved eating. Obvious ba? Blame it on our constant family gatherings or my exposure to fiestas, gimiks w gastronomic dinners, or my itchy feet wanting to try new places all the time. There was one discovery I am so happy to blog about and share to my friends na ang tipid tips din minsan.
HONGKONG STYLE NOODLE is a small kiosk at the 2nd floor of Robinsons Cainta Junction (near my daughter’s pedia clinic)…imagine, at 26 pesos i had a good lunch of friend noodles topped with 2 pcs siomai. Add a gulaman, pantulak and thats just 9 pesos! This a good find, since i’m tired of the mcdos and jollibees of this world when my daughter is around. People literally swarm around while eating standing up and there’s always a bunch linig up. Pero don’t worry mabilis ang service, so your hunger will be satiated in no time with their simple prep time. You get to choose from the 6 sauces, free willing ang pagtimpla and kahit gano pa kadami. O ha? hehe.
I swear, “HK Style Noodle” is a winner when you’re gutom na and saving up for some expensive gadget in mind.
Super sarap, uber tipid pa - Try it! ![]()
summer buddies
With some domestic crisis happening halfway through our summer, I have relegated Nina in the care of my brother’s helpers, my ever-relaible Mom and to me it felt like (admittedly) the whole blue house family baby sat for me. While Kuya Diego and sweet Ate Louise kept my baby company, as i try and go about work abnormally with thoughts of guilt sneaking in once in a while. Although, Nina sometimes shook the whole house with some of her crying bouts - i know they have had some memorable times together and some terrible times too! Such are kids right?
Hello Ate Lu, are you reading this? Thank you for being patient with Nina, “your sister” as you fondly call her when the two of you are bati, hehe. And also for Diego, for keeping up with Nina’s sensitivity and energy. I miss hearing all your bickerings 3gether. Seeing you all spending afternoons in front of the computer, playing games. Eating pizza. Swimming. Your movie date with Nina too! Your endless stories, you’re all so talkative! And for spending one night here Ate! Come visit us here in the condo again.
Posing old ones of the3 of you in younger years.
More fun times ahead! Nina loves you so much, you know that. Call her when you can, Kuya Diego already did yesterday! Mwah ![]()
Sidetrip sa Circle
Nina and i had a kiddie party to attend to by 3pm. Being too conscious about the time and wanting to buy a gift for dear Alessi (bday boy) from the Ikea place along Kamias…and being a quick shooper that I am, i overestimated the time. One hour to go til 3. Sobrang excited naman diba kung mauna ako sa party, kulang na lang maki-ihaw ako ng barbeque sa Kapatid ni Mommy Kate
hehe
But anyways, as we turned towards Quezon Circle, (an everyday sight to me, since working as Consultant somewhere out there) i thought, Eureka! Why not check out the park with Nina? Na excite ako,,,and moreso when Nina kept gasping seeing the trees upon our entrance to the Circle, plus her amazement with the mala-vintage play ground on all sides. I knew right away i made the right turn.
15pesos to park my car. 20 pesos, for 2 bottled Summit. 60 pesos an hour - for Nina’s bike rental. She had the time of her life, while I got my needed exercise, while walking alongside her (kahit na baka masagasaan ako ng pedicab, keber). She kept saying how fun it was and that we should do it again.
The Quezon Circle is a perfect sidetrip really, for families tired of thea airconditioned malls and the over-priced playroom rentals available in it. Thinking about it, it has been decades since I last set foot on Quezon Circle to see the park. The exact details i barely remember even! Nice to know there are places like these for the simpleng pinoy na pamilya, to enjoy for free. The park may have its unsightly portions like dilapidated slides, some dusty play fixtures, and a bit of dry greens. But who are we to complain? I simply liked the idea of an open space for my child to play around in, and nothing more. Some families even set picnic blankets while eating sleeping chatting. Some in groups that looked like young people in a club, with the same pink shirt to boot. But overall, our trip was fun and more than satisfactory.
For an additional 20 pesos bubble toy for nina and a GRAND total of 115pesos (grabe mura diva?) - our Circle trip was great. Just like the mastercard commercial - seeing my daughter’s big smile and hearing a heartfelt “I love you” in the end - PRICELESS!
